Cinderella…and the ugly sisters

Anton and Misha had a vision to provide a unique glamping experience in the wonderful Blackdown Hills of East Devon, featuring luxurious spa facilities using waters provided by the natural aquifer at Hartridge Springs.

Realising this audacious concept presented a considerable challenge. But, guided by their innate imagination and creativity, the family drew on the inspirational landscape around them to present their distinctive outside experience.

Searching and sourcing then assembling and providing the finest facilities for the comfort of their guests was a joy and delight, exercising their natural aptitude.

However, the tricky problem of dealing with wastewater and worse was not in their skill set. They knew that connecting to mains drainage was impractical and didn’t want to ‘urbanise’ the landscape by installing pipes and a treatment plant. Research on the interweb led them to the incinerator toilet option.

Cue the Ugly Sisters

One, two,three, FIVE incinerator loos turned up and were set to work. This they singularly and jointly refused to do! Intercontinerntal parcels arrived with new circuit boards, parts, more and more boards, but still the idle incinerators refused to work, with no-one to assist the Feidins in their plight!!

With disaster looming their wishes finally came true when they alighted on the original Cinderella incinerator loo, with people on hand to guide and support their installation and aftercare! They made enquiries and then…

Cue Cinderella

As if by magic, 1,2, then 3 Cinderellas arrived to do their work, quietly, and without fuss, the Ugly Sisters consigned to the scrapheap!!

Tales of the transformation at Hartridge Springs spead far and near with many beating a path to experience and enjoy this idyl, with it’s reliable, eco friendly and very,very special facilities!!
